Sponsorship

The Board of Directors of the Quassapaug Sailing Center would like to thank you for your interest in becoming a sponsor. The Center is located on Lake Quassapaug on West Lake Road in Middlebury, CT. The building was built in 1927 by the Whittemore family, of Middlebury, originally as summer retreat for indigent children from Waterbury. In 1945, it became the new location for the Quassapaug Yacht Club as well as being used by the Waterbury Boys and Girls Club for a summer camp. The Yacht Club remained in the location until 2003. At that time, the newly formed Quassapaug Sailing Center, Inc. purchased the property to continue it’s long history of promoting sailing to the local population.

QSC, as it is commonly called, has a written mission statement which reads:

“The QSC is an organization designed to provide sailing instruction and encourage and promote sailboat racing and good fellowship between persons actively interested in sailing and other water sports.”

Sponsors of QSC are allowed to claim their sponsorship dollars as a tax deduction and to use the facility from the months of April to November. The building, for fundraising purposes, can be rented for events at an additional cost. Sponsors receive discounted prices on sailing lessons. Our sponsors are mainly local families, but we also have sponsors from as far away as Cape Cod and New York.

Please consider taking this opportunity to join our sponsorship. Sponsorships are available at a family pledge of $875, single person pledge of $675, and single mature adult (over age 65) pledge $540, mature adult family (over age 65) pledge of $700.

Attached is a Sponsorship Form. Please complete and mail to the address above. We will contact you shortly afterwards to answer any questions you may have and to meet you at QSC if you would like to tour the property. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Director Nancy Smith.
